World of Outlaws results from the $40,000 to win show in South Carolina

Tonight, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series unloads in Gaffney, SC. Cherokee Speedway is set to pay $40,000.00 to win.

Back in May, the track added banking to the upper groove. Now, the track has added some new dirt, as of today. It’s a slightly different track.

Main Event
Report

Green flag, Larson leads into turn one. Ferguson pushes up the track in the dirty air. Ferguson lifts as he nearly tags the turn two wall, Davenport to 2nd.

Lap 5, most of the leaders run single file around the bottom. Daulton Wilson is the first car rolling the middle, he’s making progress and up to 10th.

Lap 10, Larson leads Davenport by three car lengths.

Lap 17, Larson closes on the tail of the field. Davenport closes right to the bumper of Larson in the battle for the lead. Davenport shows him the nose on the inside of turn three but he can’t make room.

Lap 22, Larson runs wide in turn one. Davenport pulls near even but Larson has momentum off turn two to hold the lead. Overton has closed to his bumper.

Lap 30, Davenport remains on the bumper of Larson. Single file from first to last.

Lap 31, Daveport dives it to the inside in turn one. Larson him holds him off once again.

Lap 32, Davenport has a run off turn two. He slides Larson in turn three, contact and Davenport takes the lead.

Larson runs wide again in turn one, Overton takes over 2nd as Larson falls to 4th. Overton and Davenport make contact, Davenport holds the lead.

Lap 35, Overton is running the middle, on his own. He dusting it off, lap by lap. Overton runs within a car length of Davenport as they break away from the field.

20 to go

Lap 40, Overton continues to work the outside lane, he’s the only car out there. Madden closes on him and Overton drops back to the bottom.

15 to go, Davenport, Overton and Madden run nose to tail around the inside lane. Davenport has caught the tail of the field.

13 to go, caution as Bryson Harper slows with a flat right rear.

Green, Davenport leads into turn one. Overton works the high side in turn one and he’s hanging with it. Overton is dusting off that lane on his own yet again.

12 to go, Overton works to the right rear of Davenport into turn three! Side by side for the lead off turn four. Overton leads with an outside pass for the lead into turn one.

Tire saga…

10 to go, slow car, caution. Nick Hoffman heads to the pits with a flat right rear.

Green, Overton leads Davenport on the single file restart.

7 to go, McCreadie slows with a flat right rear, caution. Weiss also pits with a flat. McCreadie’s right rear is completely bald.

Green, Overton leads Davenport into turn one. He opens the gap quickly as he runs all the way on the inside of the track.

6 to go, Ryan Gustin slows with a flat. Zack Mitchell also has a flat.

Green, Overton leads Davenport into turn one. He gaps him by 5 car lengths in one lap. The field is bunching up quickly behind Davenport.

4 to go, Davenport slows with a flat tire and the caution is back out. Chris Ferguson also pits with a flat tire, another right rear. Every tire that’s come off has been completely bald.

Green, Overton leads Madden by five car lengths before turn one.

2 to go, Josh Richars slows, no caution as Overton takes the white flag.
