Chip Ganassi Racing shop sold to Rick Hendrick

NASCAR garage of the Chip Ganassi Racing team has been sold

In June 2021, it was announced that Trackhouse Racing acquired the NASCAR portion of Chip Ganassi Racing.

CGR still operates a second race shop. Their INDYCAR program is based in Indianapolis and was not a part of the NASCAR sale.

The sale of the NASCAR team did not include the building. Only the personnel and equipment.

The NASCAR side of Chip Ganassi Racing operated out of a building on 22-acres of property in North Carolina.

The building has since been sold for $10.2 million. That sale was completed on Sept. 3.

An LLC with the same address as Hendrick Automotive Group in Charlotte, NC has purchased the building. The exact details of Hendrick’s use for the shop remains unknown. The shop sits just miles from Hendrick Motorsports.

For 2022, the purchase of CGR gives Trackhouse a second charter. The No. 99 will continue to be driven by Daniel Suarez. The No. 1 car will be driven by Ross Chastain. Kurt Busch, the former driver of the No. 1 at CGR has signed a new deal with 23XI Racing.
