Over the weekend, Chase Elliott made his Nitro RX debut at The Firm in Florida. The race is spread over a two day show.

On Saturday, Elliott raced against Tanner Foust, a 4 time Rallycross champion. The 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion was going for the race win.
In the final corner, Elliott drove into his door, pushed him off line and then drove to the finish line.
It appeared Elliott won in his debut. However, the win was later taken away.
Race control wasn’t friendly of the move. They penalized Elliott, giving the win to Foust.

Chase Elliott comments
“So much fun, first off,” Chase Elliott said after the race.
“I was trying to slid myself in there, rather than door him, like I did. I used him up, hopefully he’s not mad at me. But, I think it was a great show.”
“I had a blast. That was really my only opportunity. That was the only section where I gained enough on him to make a move.”
“Just got aggressive, tried to slide it in there. Just didn’t quite have my angle. I think if I had it a little more turned, it probably would have been ok.”
He added, “I didn’t really know what to do, to be real honest with you.”
“I was kinda learning as I went. Tanner and I were over there talking for like 10 minutes before the race.”
“I hit him pretty hard. But, I wasn’t trying to hit him so straight. In my head, I pictured me driving in there, pulling a little handbrake and hitting him more door-to-door.”
“Nonetheless, only way to learn is to send it, I guess, and try to learn. I thought everybody enjoyed it and it was cool to watch.”
“He added, “For about 5 minutes, we won. It was good while it lasted.”
