The World of Outlaws Late Model Series opens their 2022 season. It’s the first of a three-day show at the half-mile dirt track of Volusia Speedway Park.

This race was originally scheduled for last night. However, due to track conditions and running late, the features themselves were pushed back to this afternoon.

Main Event
Report

Green flag, McDowell and Moran run near even into turn one. McDowell noses ahead on the inside off turn two.

Back into turn one, Moran drives it deep on the outside and pulls even. He gives up corner exit speed and McDowell leads into turn three.

Spin behind them, caution.

Green, McDowell leads as Madden and Moran battle for 2nd. Moran wins that battle through the middle.

Ryan Gustin breaks into turn three. Gustin spins sideways, Josh Richards and Ricky Thornton Jr are collected. The caution is out.

Green, McDowell leads Madden into turn one.

Lap 10, McDowell has caught the tail of the field.

Lap 12, Josh Richards spins and the caution is out.

Green, McDowell leads with Madden all over his bumper. Dennis Erb Jr dives inside of Madden into turn one.

Back into turn one, Erb Jr slides Madden for 2nd.

Lap 19, Chris Simpson slows and the caution is out.

Green, McDowell leads Erb Jr into turn one. Moran knocks a rut behind them. As he slides across the track, Tanner English and 4 other cars are collected. The caution is out.

Green, McDowell leads Erb Jr into turn one. Kyle Larson looks inside of Madden to take 3rd away.

6 to go, Larson drives it deep in turn three. He looks inside of Dennis Erb Jr for 2nd but cant complete the pass.

2 to go, McDowell leads by a straight away. Josh Richards spins behind them and collects heavy nose damage, caution!

Green, McDowell leads Erb Jr. Larson heads for the top to try and find an open lane but he can’t get to the bumper of Erb Jr.
