Over the years, veteran NASCAR drivers Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski have bumped heads. That’s both on and off the track as well as in the digital land of social media.
During the 2021 NASCAR Playoffs, Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski made contact during a battle for 2nd on the final lap at Martinsville Speedway. Both drivers were able to finish the race.
However, after the race, Busch drove into turn one on the outside of Keselowski. He then turned left, directly across Keselowski’s nose, spinning himself when the race was already over.
Moments later, Denny Hamlin retaliated on Alex Bowman. That’s a video that went viral and overshadowed this alternative altercation.
“He drills my ass coming out of four, for no reason,” Kyle Busch stated to Dustin Long in a video after the race.
“It’s frickin’ retarded, man, and so stupid. I don’t understand these guys. I should beat the shit out of him right now is what I should do, but that doesn’t do me any good either.”
NASCAR isn’t strict on language. They’re drivers are able to show emotion with words or otherwise, even on national tv. However, a select few words cross the line.
12.8.1.e: “Public statement and/or communication that criticizes, ridicules, or otherwise disparages another person based upon that person’s race, color, creed, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, age, or handicapping condition.”
Busch tweeted shortly after using the word, “In one of my post-race interviews I used a word I should never use and I want to apologize for it.”
Days after the incident at Martinsville, Busch was required to take a sensitivity training class. He was required to take the class before the 2022 season.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, NASCAR hosted a Next Gen test at Phoenix Raceway. Kyle Busch was in attendance. During the test, NASCAR confirmed that Busch completed sensitivity training.
He’s officially meet the requirements for 2022 competition.
