Officials have watered the upper lane of the track just ahead of the feature. They’ve rolled it in and drivers are now looking at an updated track surface.

Donny Schatz and Brad Sweet set the front row for the $15,000-to-win main event. 30 laps of dirt sprint car racing are up next…

Main Event
Report

Green flag, Schatz takes the lead off turn two as Sweet powers to 2nd.

Lap 2, Sweet works to the outside of Sweet. They run side by side for the lead. A lap later, Sweet clears Schatz via the outside lane.

Lap 4, Logan Schuchart slows, caution.

Green, Anthony Macri gets sideways into turn one after driving into the back of Cole Macedo as they raced for 3rd. Macri backs it up the banking and into the wall. Macri bounces off the outside wall, rolls on his side and he’s clipped on the top wing by another car. Moments later, Macri climbs from his machine as the red flag is out.

Green, Sweet leads on the inside as Schatz rolls the cushion. Schatz has a run off turn two, Sweet leaves the lane open and Schatz drives right by on the outside to take the lead into turn three.

Lap 15, Schatz leads Sweet by 1.2 seconds. The leader has caught the tail of the field and he takes the lap cars three wide in a hurry.

Lap 20, Schatz leads Sweet by 1.3 seconds.

7 to go, Schatz opens the gap.

2 to go, Noah Gass stalls and the caution is out.

Green, Schatz leads as Cory Eliason slides Sweet into turn one on the single file restart for 2nd.

Donny Schatz wins the Friday night show on The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway!
