Dirt sprint car drivers raced for $50,000 to win at Lernerville Speedway

National dirt sprint car drivers have unloaded in Sarver, PA. The 4/10-mile track of Lernerville Speedway is set to host the High Limit Sprint Car Series.

Race Report

Green flag, Sweet clears Larson before turn one. Larson looks to cross under Sweet off turn two but he can’t get there.

Lap 7, Sweet has caught the tail of the field. Larson closes quickly to his bumper and Sanders joins the battle for the lead as well.

Lap 8, Ryan Timms jumps over the track limits, rolls off turn four and then he hits the catch fence. The red flag is out but the driver is able to climb from the car.

Green, Larson drives it deep to the bottom in turn one. Larson slides him and clears him. Sweet crosses under him off turn two, Sweet retakes the lead into turn three as Larson jumps the cushion in dirty air behind him.

Lap 13, Sweet is glued to the cushion and on the gas. The track is extremely heavy after rains throughout the week.

Lap 15, Sweet struggles with lap traffic off turn four, he lifts and jumps the cushion. Larson has a run into turn one and he takes the lead away!

Lap 16

Lap 16, Sanders is in the turn four wall, caution.

Green, Sweet has a look to the inside of Larson in turn one but he can’t complete the pass. Abreu has a run on Sweet, Abreu slides Sweet for 2nd.

Lap 17, Tim Shaffer is upside down on the front stretch! The red flag is back out.

Abreu will need to make that pass again as the lap was not complete.

Green, Larson gets the jump on Sweet and he’s clear by several car lengths into turn one.

Lap 23, Larson jumps the cushion in turn four. Sweet closes on the leader. Larson works heavy lap traffic.

Lap 25, Sweet is on the bumper of Larson in the battle for the lead. He has a look on the inside in turn one but he can’t complete the pass.

Lap 26, Larson bicycles on the cushion in turn two! He nearly rolls but turns over the banking and saves it! Larson falls outside the top 10 as Sweet takes over the lead.

6 to go, David Gravel slides Sweet for the lead into turn three. He clears him, Gravel leads.

2 to go, Sweet drives it deep into turn one. He jumps the cushion off turn two, no caution.
