Silly season is well underway.
In 2022, Kyle Busch left Joe Gibbs Racing after a 15-year career with the team. Following a sponsorship search that lasted over a year, the team was unable to secure funding to renew his contract.

Busch is currently racing for Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series. He joined the team at the start of the 2023 season.
He picked up three wins in the first fifteen races with RCR. However, since WWT Raceway in 2023, Busch hasn’t returned to victory lane.
Last week, Martin Truex Jr announced he’ll retire from full-time NASCAR Cup Series competition. That has opened a seat at JGR for the 2025 season.
Busch hasn’t closed the door to a JGR return. And, he’s also open to the idea of returning to Hendrick Motorsports, a team he drove for briefly between 2003-2007.
Busch’s contract with RCR was a two year deal. It comes with an option for the 2025 season.

“I would say anything is possible, always,” Kyle Busch told Bob Pockrass.
“Certainly, if I was welcome, I would go back. If Hendrick welcomed me back, I would go back.”
“But right now I’m at RCR with my group of guys … we’re trying to work and build this program and make RCR great again.”

“I could see, thinking that. But, I don’t know why you would say that unless you were not happy with the deal that you had.”
“Opening the door to a Gibbs or Hendrick conversation, that’s like a kick in the teeth to the guys and gals that are working on your car.”
“Unless you were looking for a way out, I don’t know why you would say that.”
