Kevin Harvick and his son Keelan Harvick raced against each other for the first time
The CARS Tour West division is on the grid in Bakersfield, California. The half-mile of Kern County Raceway is set to host the first race between NASCAR Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick and his son Keelan Harvick.

This 150 lap race has been split into two stages. Each will be 75 laps. Points and money are up for grabs at the end of each 75 lap segment.

Main Event

Green flag, they run side by side into turn one. Keelan Harvick wins the battle via the outside lane into turn three.
46 to go in stage one, Kevin Harvick looks inside of Shepherd for 2nd. Keelan Harvick leads Kevin Harvick off turn two.
40 to go in stage one, the caution is out.
Green, Kevin Harvick gets the jump and they run side by side into turn one. They fight for space off turn two. Kevin Harvick clears him for the lead into turn three.
27 to go in stage one, Tristan Pena is in the wall hard off turn two, caution.
Green, side by side into turn one. Kevin Harvick drives it deep on the outside and he leads off turn two.
10 to go in stage one, Jacob Gomes works inside of Keelan Harvick in the battle for 2nd. Several laps later, they remain side by side for 2nd.
Stage 1 Winner: Kevin Harvick wins stage one at Kern County Raceway!
Stage 2
This is a full race reset. It’s essentially two races split by stages.
Teams head to the infield for adjustments. Keelan Harvick heads back to the pole position for the start of the second race.
Green flag on stage two, Kevin Harvick drives it deep to the bottom. It’s a slider in turn one. He runs son Keelan wide and they run three wide for 2nd into turn three.
Buddy Shepherd works under Kevin Harvick off turn four. Shepherd to the lead!
70 to go, Shepherd leads Kevin Harvick and Hale.
50 to go, Kevin Harvick is all over the bumper of Shepherd in the battle for the lead. Harvick is exploring both lanes to build a run.
41 to go, Shepherd wiggles off turn two. Harvick pulls alongside but he can’t clear him.
40 to go, the competition caution is out.
Green, Shepherd leads Kevin Harvick off turn two.
30 to go, Shepherd is on defense as he runs the outside lane. Harvick fills the inside lane but he can’t complete the pass.
Harvick leans on the bumper of Shepherd down the back.
15 to go (Stage 2)
15 to go, Shephard, Kevin Harvick and Jacob Gomes run bumper to bumper at the front of the field.
12 to go, Harvick leans on the bumper of Shepherd into turn three. He holds him off!
9 to go, Gomes looks inside of Harvick. He clears him for 2nd.
7 to go, Harvick makes it three wide for the lead into turn one! Gomes clears Shephard off turn four and Gomes takes the lead away.
Shepherd drives it deep to the bottom in turn one. He run Gomes wide and they both lose momentum. Harvick drives under them both and takes the lead!
5 to go, Gomes looks to the bottom of Harvick for the lead and he locks up into turn one. Gomes drives into the left rear of Kevin Harvick and Harvick is around. The caution is out as they crash while racing for the win.
Keelan Harvick has taken over the lead after the top 3 crashed.
Green, Harvick and Kenna Mitchell run side by side for the lead.
As they return to turn one, Keelan Harvick doors Mitchell for the lead.
