48-year-old Ryan Newman will race at North Wilkesboro Speedway
Ryan Newman spent 23 years in the NASCAR Cup Series between 2000-2023. He left following the 2023 season.
Since 2023, Newman has been racing part-time with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. However, he has not made a start in any of the top three NASCAR national series.
That’s about to change. Newman is set to return via the NASCAR Truck Series. He will drive the No. 25 Ram 1500 at North Wilkesboro Speedway on July 18th.
Newman has been selected as the Free Agent driver for the Kaulig Racing entry.
The 48-year-old joins teammates Corey LaJoie (No. 10), Brenden Queen (No. 12), “Mini” Tyrrell (No. 14) and Justin Haley (No. 16).

“I’m really excited to get back behind the wheel at North Wilkesboro and to be part of Ram’s Free Agent Program,” Newman said via the team release.
Newman added, “It’s special returning to a brand I had so much success with early in my career, and racing at Wilkesboro is always cool.”
Newman has 18 career NASCAR Cup Series victories.
He has not raced in the NASCAR Truck Series since 2018. He’s only run 7 truck races in his career, but back in 2008, he won in his first Truck Series start.
