Daytona International Speedway Hurricane Irma damage update

Moderate damage to Daytona International Speedway

The speedway issued a brief statement regarding Hurricane Irma damage.

“UPDATE: Daytona International Speedway has experienced moderate damage from Hurricane Irma. The damage to the facility was cosmetic and will not have an impact on the event calendar,” stated the quick Facebook update.

“The Ticket Office and Tours will remain closed on Tuesday for facility cleanup.”

Florida Power & Light assembled the largest pre-storm restoration workforce in U.S. history. 17,000 FPL employees and workers from other utilities and electrical contracting companies.

Before the storm, Daytona International Speedway became the parking lot for a bulk of these workers.
