Hurricane Isaias came through the Gulf and made landfall on October 9th, 2026. Winds reached 100mph as it hit the Florida Panhandle.

In its path sat Southern Raceway. The track is a 3/8-mile dirt surface in Milton, Florida. The track made preparations in advance of the storm but they’ve still been hit hard.

Grandstands were ripped up and thrown on the racetrack. Roofs were ripped off a building as just about every structure at the facility has suffered major damage.

Southern Raceway Statement

“We made it out to Southern Raceway to assess the hurricane damage, and it’s tough to see our track like this. The damage is significant, and we have an extensive cleanup and rebuilding process ahead of us,” Southern Raceway stated.

“First and foremost, all of our family is safe. Our homes made it through with varying degrees of damage, but nothing we can’t fix or replace. We’re incredibly thankful for that.”

“We don’t yet know how long it will take to get the track back in shape or what this means for our upcoming events. We’re still taking it all in and figuring out where to start. We’ll keep everyone updated as we get a clearer picture.”

“To our racers, fans, neighbors, and everyone dealing with the aftermath of this storm: we’re going through this right alongside you. We know many of you are looking at damage to your own homes and businesses and facing the same uncertainties we are.”

“This community means so much to our family, and we’re grateful to be part of it. Take care of yourselves and each other as we all work through what comes next. There’s a lot of work ahead, but we’ll take it one day at a time.”
