Danica Patrick: “I hope it goes well. I just really want to end strong. All I can hope is that I’m in contention during the race.”
On February 18th, Danica Patrick is scheduled to run the last NASCAR race of her career. She will enter her seventh Daytona 500. The Great American Race will become her finale.
“It’s the last one. I’m excited to leave on Sunday and be like, ‘I have months off. What am I going to do?’ That’s an exciting thought,” Partrick stated today during Daytona 500 Media Day.
In the last 5 years, Danica Patrick has run full-time in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. That’s 36 races per year. Though, more if you count the Clash or the Duals.
“I hope it goes well. I just really want to end strong. All I can hope is that I’m in contention during the race.”
“So many familiar faces. I went to GoDaddy, it’s been awhile since I’ve been there. One of the ladies at the front desk didn’t know who I was. I was like, ‘Oh wow, it has been too long then.’ ”
“It’s crazy how are brands have really grown so similarly. There big push is helping small business and the side hustle. That’s really all I get going on right now is ‘side hustle’ with the book, the wine, the clothing line. GoDaddy was such a great fit anyway, let alone the history.”
Toward the tail of 2017, Danica Patrick and fellow NASCAR driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr went through a breakup. Since, Danica Patrick has begun dating NFL star Aaron Rodgers. The Green Bay Packers quarterback will attend the Daytona 500.
“He’s going to be here to support me and he’s excited,” Patrick told The Associated Press this week. “I’m excited to show him what I do.”
Danica Patrick has run seven Daytona 500’s in her NASCAR Cup Series career. She has a best finish of 8th which came in 2013. In eleven starts at Daytona International Speedway she has an average finish of 18th.
