Pocono Penalty Report: May 31-June 2, 2019

NASCAR penalty report from Pocono Raceway

Last weekend, NASCAR returned to Long Pond, Pennsylvania. The triangle race track of Pocono Raceway hosted a double header race weekend.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series and the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series were on hand. Kyle Busch drove to his 55th career victory in MENCS competition. Cole Custer claimed the win in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

One penalty was announced for the MENCS field. No penalties were announced following the NXS race. Additionally, a crew member has been suspended indefinitely. He was cited for multiple infractions.

On Tuesday afternoon, the weekly penalty report was released:


Pocono Penalties
NASCAR Cup Series

Car/Driver: No. 41 Daniel Suarez

Infraction Date: June 2, 2019

Violation: Sections 10.9.10.4: Tires and Wheels – Note: Lug nut(s) not properly installed.

Penalty: Crew chief (Billy Scott) has been fined $10,000.

Pocono Penalties
NASCAR Xfinity Series

No penalties were announced for the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Other

John J. Graybeal has been handed an indefinite suspension from NASCAR competition. Graybeal was noted with multiple infractions on this week’s penalty report.

The NASCAR crew member was in violation 12.1.a, 12.8.1.e and 19.3.1.d. Those include a violation of the sport’s substance abuse, behavioral general procedure and member conduct policies.
