Florence Speedway results for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
Tonight, it’s preliminary action for the North South 100. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event at Florence Speedway is set to pay $50,000 to the race winner.

Tonight, they’ll set the grid for tomorrow’s North South 100 main event. Two rounds of heat racing action are up next. Passing points is in action on the half-mile clay oval.
Heat 1 – Round 1
Mike Marlar and Kevin Weaver set the front row in the first heat race of the night. Green, Marlar leads into turn one, false start.
Green, Marlar gets the jump once again as Weaver holds 2nd.
Lap 6, the caution is out.
Green, Norris slides Weaver for 2nd in turn three. One by one, Weaver drops spots. He can’t build momentum as they keep sliding him and stalling his momentum.
Marlar drives off the the win in the first heat race of the night.
Heat 2 – Round 1
Zak Blackwood and Todd Brennan trail the pace truck in heat two. Green, Brennan noses ahead on the outside. Blackwood fights back on the bottom and takes the lead into turn three.
Lap 2, McCreadie is slicing through the field. He started this race on the back row, he’s up to 2nd.
Lap 5, the caution is out. McCreadie heads to the pits! He’ll restart at the tail once again.
Green, Blackwood leads. McCreadie runs three wide at the back.
Lap 7, Brennan drives it deep in the middle. He cuts across the nose of McCreadie and he’s around to bring out the yellow.
Green, Blackwood leads. McDowell and Bloomquist battle for 2nd. McDowell takes that spot.
McCreadie finds himself three wide once again but he can’t get it back to the front.
Blackwood drives off to the win in heat two!
Heat 3 – Round 1
Frank Heckenast Jr and Billy Moyer Jr lead them out of the pit area ahead of heat three. Green, false start on both front row cars.
Green, James is slow in turn two and the caution is back out.
Green, they run near even into turn one. Moyer Jr comes out with the lead.
Lap 4, Heckenast is on his bumper. He gives the bottom a shot but can’t get the drive off.
Final lap, Heckenast to the bottom in turn one. He’s clear off turn two.
Heckenast Jr takes the win in heat three!
Heat 4 – Round 1
Jason Miller and Duane Chamberlain head for the flag stand in heat four. Green, Chamberlain noses ahead on the top into turn one.
Lap 3, Hudson O’Neal has quickly moved to 2nd. He’s running down the leader as they both remain glued to the top.
Hudson O’Neal is clear with a slider in turn three.
Hudson O’Neal drives away to win heat four.
Heat 5 – Round 1
Trevor Landrum and Shanon Buckingham lead them to the line in heat five. Green, false start on Buckingham.
Green, Landrum leads on the bottom. Moriarty drops off the top and crosses under him as they head into turn three. Moriarty to the lead.
Owens moves to 2nd. He hits the cushion and drives by for the lead.
Lap 4, Rettig is around in turn three and the caution is out.
Green, Owens leads. Davenport takes 2nd. Pierce holds 3rd.
Final lap, Pierce drives it deep to the bottom in turn three. Davenport crosses under him as they drag race to the line. Davenport wins that battle by inches.
Several seconds earlier, Jimmy Owens took the win in heat five!
Heat 6 – Round 1
Devin Gilpin and Kyle Bronson line up on row one for the final heat race in round one. Green, Gilpin leads off turn two.
Bronson crosses under him into turn three. He slides clear.
Lap 3, car around on the back and the caution is out.
Green, Gilpin cuts across the nose of Overton into turn one. They both continue as the field checks up behind them. Nick Hoffman takes over 2nd.
The whole field is on the cushion around the top. Hoffman is closing slowly but he’s out of time.
Kyle Bronson wins the final heat in round one!
Heat 7 – Round 2
Mike Benedum and Josh Richards set the front row for the first heat in round two. Green, Benedum heads for the bottom in turn one and clear off turn two.
Lap 4, Benedum leads by a straight away. Several cars line up nose to tail behind Richards.
Lap 6, Marlar is around in turn four and the caution is out.
Green, several cars stack up behind the leader. Two cars are around before the starting line. The caution is back out.
Green, Stricklet to the cushion in turn one, he climbs to 3rd. He heads for the top in turn three. He has a run on Richards but Richards shuts the door. Strickler cuts under him and slides him in turn one for 2nd.
Mike Benedum drives away to win heat seven!
Heat 8 – Round 2
Billy Green and Bobby Pierce lead them to the flag stand in heat eight. Green, they run even into turn one.
Pierce has his right rear step out off turn two, he makes light contact as sparks fly.
Green leads into turn three. Pierce sticks with the top.
Lap 6, Pierce has caught the bumper of the leader. He works to his outside. Pierce is clear and he retake’s the lead.
Bobby Pierce wins heat eight!
Heat 9 – Round 2
Earl Pearson Jr and Hudson O’Neal square up ahead of heat nine. Green, they run even into turn one. They remain even into turn three.
Pearson gets the drive off the bottom and clear. Hudson O’Neal tries to cross under him as Davenport heads to the top.
Davenport has a run on Neal for 2nd. He looks to his inside but Neal was already turning into the corner. They make heavy door to door contact.
Weiss takes 2nd. Lap 8, Weiss can close to the bumper of the leader but he can’t work alongside.
Earl Pearson Jr wins heat race nine!
Heat 10 – Round 2
Donald McIntosh and Jeff Alsip exit the pit area ahead of heat ten. Green, they run even into turn one. McIntosh gets the drive off the bottom in turn two, he leads.
Lap 3, Alsip gets sideways and nearly chops the right side of Bloomquist but they both continue. Bloomquist passes two of them into turn three. He’s up to 3rd after starting toward the back.
Lap 7, Billy Moyer Jr is slow on track and the caution is out.
Green, Bloomquist takes over 2nd on the outside in turn one. Moran fights back and the bottom. He drives it deep in turn three and pulls to the numbers on the leader. He sacrifices all corner exit speed and Bloomquist drives back by.
Bloomquist runs the middle in turn one. He’s at the right rear of the leader. McIntosh leaves the lane open. Bloomquist drives to the lead on the outside.
Scott Bloomquist cruises to the win in heat ten!
Heat 11 – Round 2
Victor Lee is a scratch. Stormy Scott and Tim McCreadie line up on row one in heat eleven. Green, the leader run even into turn one. Madden thinks about making it three wide on the bottom but he lifts.
Scott wins the race into turn three.
Lap 5, Scott leads by 5 car lengths. McCreadie moves to the top. He bails, back to the bottom. Lap 8, Madden works to the outside of McCreadie for 2nd.
Stormy Scott takes the win in heat eleven!
Heat 12 – Round 2
Mike Provenzano and Tyler Erb trail the pace truck ahead of the final heat race on the weekend. Green, Erb hits the cushion in turn one. He drives clear off turn two.
Lap 2, Owens has a look on the outside of Erb. Lap 3, Owens drives it deep through the middle in turn three. He works to his right rear and Erb gives him the lane. Owens drives by on the outside.
Lap 4, Weaver is slow and the caution is out.
Green, Owens leads by two car lengths into turn one. Dohm takes over 2nd.
Jimmy Owens drives away to win the final heat race if the North South 100!
