The field has been split into two groups ahead of this session. Group A will see the bottom 18 qualifiers from last week. Group B consists of the top 20 qualifiers from the week prior. The order in each group has been set by a random draw.

Qualifying – Report
Laps: 2
The sun is setting as this session begins. The temperatures will go down and the speeds will go up as the session rolls on.
Two laps are allocated for qualifying. Early on, nearly every car is setting their quick time on lap two of the run.
Quin Houff tagged the wall lightly off turn two. He has a tire rub into turn three and he shuts it down.

Group B
Kyle Busch is the first car in group A. He jumps to the top of the board.
“I’m thinking about stubbing my toe and going on the five minute clock,” Kurt Busch tells NBC Sports ahead of his run as he refers to the sun setting behind him.
Chase Elliott is glued right to the yellow line in turn one on his lap. He barely misses the bottom in turn three but he jumps to the top of the board.
Hamlin is super slow on his get up to speed lap, he’s the first to do that. He takes it easy into turn one as well. He’s on it into turn three on his last lap. He’s putting it all into lap two. He gets loose in turn one and comes up just short, 3rd.
Kevin Harvick is snug into turn one. He works it to the bottom. He misses the bottom in turn three but he jumps to the top of the board.
Brad Keselowski stomps the gas early off the exit of turn two. He uses every inch of the track off turn four and nearly tags the wall but he’s quickest so far.
Brad Keselowski will start from the pole position in Saturday night’s NASCAR race at the short track!
“We didn’t get any poles last year. Now, we got three,” Keselowski says of 2019.
