New qualifying format
Results from the first five rounds, locked in most of the field. However, 4 spots were available via 1 qualifying lap.
Notables missing the event: James Hinchcliffe, Kyle Busch, Robert Wickens, Spencer Pigot, Felipe Nasr, and Kyle Kaiser.
Grabbing the final four spots: Scott Speed, Stefan Wilson, James Davison, and RC Enerson.
