Ryan Blaney details The Crew and responds to criticism of the new NASCAR tv show

“I got to meet Kevin James, big fan of his,” Ryan Blaney told Bob Pockrass in the video below. “I love the King of Queens. A really funny guy.”

“A lot of the writers and the director on that show, I got to meet. They did a good job of getting a lot of information, before they started writing the show.”

“Did a lot of research on how the interiors of how race shops work. They asked a lot of questions and went to a lot of teams. They weren’t just winging it.”

“It’s a live audience sitcom. But, I thought it was good. It’s a pretty lighthearted show that we got to be a part of. Cole Custer’s a part of it too in another episode with me.”

“I saw some people writing some bad stuff about it. Some reporters writing some bad stuff about it. And, I didn’t really agree with that.”

“I think they did good. They’re not really trying to make us look bad.”

The action scenes were filmed at Michigan International Speedway. However, move trips to the track were initially in the works.

“It’s a shame, in 2020 they were going to come out to the track. They were going to do some filming and research. Obviously, that didn’t happen, with COVID.”

Blaney added, “It is really funny. But, at the same time, it does get informative about the sport.”
