Kyle Busch set for return to dirt late model racing

Brandon Overton will field a car for Kyle Busch at Volunteer Speedway
Volunteer Speedway is set to host the second edition of the Kyle Larson Presents, FloRacing Late Model Challenge. The race runs on Thursday, April 6, 2023 and pays $20,000 to the feature winner and $1,000 to start the feature.
NASCAR goes dirt racing at Bristol Motor Speedway on April 9th. The race at Volunteer Speedway takes place just ahead of the Bristol Dirt race.
NASCAR driver Kyle Busch has joined the dirt late model entry list along with Kyle Larson at Volunteer Speedway in Tennessee. The driver is the 2015 and 2019 NASCAR Cup Series champion.
Kyle Busch commented on the news via twitter, “Bring it on!”
Busch hasn’t raced at Volunteer Speedway but he does have dirt late model experience. Busch raced a late model prepared by Jonathan Davenport in the 2021 Bristol Dirt Nationals.
Volunteer Speedway is located in Bulls Gap, Tennessee. It’s a 4/10-mile high-banked oval.
Brandon Overton will field the machine driven by Busch in the event. Previously, Busch won the 2012 Prelude to the Dream at Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway in a dirt late model.
Event Format The Super Late Model program on Thursday, April 6 will include a full slate of hot laps, qualifying, heat race and consolation race action, capped by a 50-lap finale around the East Tennessee highbanks.
General grandstand admission: $30 (ages 11-and-up), $10 (ages 5-10), and free (ages 4-and-under)
Pit admission and tier parking: $40 (ages 11-and-up), $20 (ages 5-10), and free (ages 4-and-under).
