NASCAR Cup Series drivers are on the grid in Downtown Chicago, Illinois for the Grant Park 220. It’s the Chicago Street Race, marking the first race of it’s kind in the 75 year history of the sport.

Stage 1 – Report
Laps: 20 (1-20 / 100)
Green flag, Hamlin leads Reddick on the single file start. Reddick looks to the outside of Hamlin into turn one. Reddick completes the pass into turn four. Aric Almirola spins, no caution. Erik Jones, Brad Keselowski and Noah Gragson tangle in turn six, all three are able to continue.
Lap 2, Hamlin spins under braking and finds the turn 2 tire barrier! No caution, he keeps it rolling but falls to 14th. Christopher Bell takes over 2nd.
Lap 3, Kyle Busch slides through turn six and he’s stuck in the tire barrier. The caution is out.
Lap 9, Reddick misses the braking point into turn six. As he runs wide, Christopher Bell takes over the race lead.
Lap 13, Noah Gragson slides through turn six and he slams the tire barrier. Gragson is stuck and the caution is back out.
Many drivers head for the pit lane. Most of the leaders stay out.

Stage 2 – Report
Laps: 25 (21-45 / 100)
Lap 21, Alex Bowman and Chase Briscoe pit for slick tires. They’re the first drivers to make the switch.
Lap 22, Joey Logano finds the tire barrier. He reverses out and keeps rolling, no caution.
Lap 23, Jenson Button spins coming to the pit lane.
Lap 25, Chase Elliott has found the turn two tire barrier. He backs out and keeps going, no caution.
Lap 26, Bell pits from the race lead. Bell quickly cycles back to the lead. Shane Van Gisbergen takes over 2nd.
Lap 29, Gragson has found the turn six tire barrier once more. The caution is out as they’ll have to pull him out for the second time.
Green, Bell leads as Reddick dives inside of Van Gisbergen for 2nd.
Lap 40, Hamlin turns Bowman and the caution is out.
Green, Bell leads with Larson all over his bumper.
1 to go in stage two, Alex Bowman is up in smoke. The caution is out and this stage will end under the yellow.

Stage 3 – Report

Bell leads most of the field to the pit lane. Bell restarts 12th as Justin Haley, Austin Dillon and others stay out.
Green flag on stage three, Haley leads Dillon.
Lap 49, Byron has found the tire barrier. Corey LaJoie and Kevin Harvick spin into the scene and the track is blocked! The whole field stacks up and the caution is out.
Lap 53, Martin Truex Jr spins, no caution.
Lap 54, Bubba Wallace misses the corner. He heads into the runoff area and loses several positions.
18 to go
18 to go, Tyler Reddick cooks turn six from 4th and slams the tire barrier. He’s stuck in the wall and the caution is out.
14 to go, Haley leads with Austin Dillon all over his bumper. Dillon misses the corner! He run straight into the wall after clipping the inside wall. Dillon is stuck in the turn one wall as the car won’t turn. He backs it up onto the pit lane. Chase Elliott is handed 2nd.
11 to go
11 to go, Shane Van Gisbergen dives inside of Kyle Busch for 3rd into turn one. Van Gisbergen has fresher tires than both cars ahead.
8 to go, Van Gisbergen dives inside of Elliott to take 2nd away. Van Gisbergen dives inside of Haley for the race lead but Martin Truex Jr is in the tire barrier and the caution is out. Haley will return to the lead as the caution was already out before the pass for the lead.
Green with 5 to go, Haley leads Van Gisbergen. Van Gisbergen dives inside into turn two. Haley looks inside into turn three to retake the lead. Van Gisbergen dives inside into turn four, Van Gisbergen leads!
2 to go, Bubba Wallace misses turn one and slams into Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Stenhouse Jr is stuck in the turn one wall and the caution is out!
Green in NASCAR Overtime, Van Gisbergen leads Haley.
Shane Van Gisbergen wins the Chicago Street Race in his first career start!
