World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series driver battled for $185,000 to win at Knoxville Raceway

The grandstands are sold out in Knoxville, Iowa. It’s the final night of the Knoxville Nationals on the half-mile dirt track of Knoxville Raceway.

Green flag, Larson is clear before turn one. Donny Schatz slides Abreu to take 2nd away.

Lap 8, Larson leads Schatz by 3 seconds. However, the leader has caught the tail of the field.

Lap 14, Schatz works the bottom as Abreu knocks the cushion. Abreu drives by on the outside to reclaim 2nd.

Lap 16, Chase Randall blows a right rear while running 10th, caution.

Abreu has a flat right rear as he rolls around under caution. Abreu heads to the pit lane from 2nd.

Green, Larson leads Schatz and Macedo. David Gravel is slicing through the field after transferring in from the B Main, Gravel takes 7th away.

Halfway Break

Lap 26, the caution is out. This will be the race break caution. Teams will refuel all the cars on pit road.

Green, Larson leads as Schatz and Schuchart run side by side for 2nd.

Lap 28, Schuchart slides Schatz for 2nd in turn two.

Lap 35, Larson works lap traffic. He leads Schuchart by 1.6 seconds.

Lap 37, Larson squeezes between a lap car and the wall. The race leader nearly crashed, instead he opens the gap.

Lap 39, Gravel continues his charge to the front. He clears Scelzi for 4th after starting 22nd.

Lap 41, Schuchart slows in turn four from 2nd, caution.

Green, Larson leads Schatz and Gravel. Gravel knocks the cushion and pulls even with Schatz. They cross, Schatz holds the spot.

8 to go, Gravel slides Schatz for 2nd. He holds the spot off turn four.

5 to go, Larson leads Gravel by 1.5 seconds.

2 to go, Larson has caught the tail of the field.
