Legacy Motor Club selects Josh Berry for the No. 42 at Daytona International Speedway
In 2024, Josh Berry will drive the No. 4 car full-time for Stewart-Haas Racing. Kevin Harvick is going into retirement, handing the Chevrolet seat to Berry.
Earlier this month, Noah Gragson was released from Legacy Motor Club. The driver was also suspended by NASCAR after liking a George Floyd meme on Instagram. Gragson was the full-time driver of the No. 42 before the incident.

Berry filled the No. 42 seat at Michigan International Speedway. Next week, he’s set to return to the car at Daytona International Speedway.
Berry has already run 9 races this season. However, this will be his first NASCAR Cup Series race on the 2.5-mile of Daytona.
Josh Berry comments
“I can’t thank everyone at LEGACY MOTOR CLUB enough for giving me the opportunity to drive the No. 42 again next weekend at Daytona,” said Berry.
“I haven’t driven these cars on a superspeedway yet, but I’ve got great teammates in Erik Jones and Jimmie Johnson that I can lean on throughout the week to be up to speed for Saturday night.”
Berry is currently 5th in the NASCAR Xfinity Series standings.
Joey Cohen
“We appreciate the cooperation of JR Motorsports and look forward to Josh driving the No. 42 Chevy at Daytona,” said VP of Race Operations Joey Cohen.
“Josh stepped in at Michigan and fit in great with the team. He understands the need to work together at superspeedways as a teammate and can help LEGACY M.C. have a solid points day and contest for the win.”
