Matt DiBenedetto, Rackley W.A.R. to part ways

The NASCAR team and driver will go different directions in 2024

32-year-old Matt DiBenedetto will not renew his contract with Rackley W.A.R. beyond the 2023 season.

Between 2015 and 2021, DiBenedetto ran full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series. His final season in the divison came in 2021 while driving the No. 21 for the Wood Brothers Racing team.

In the previous two season, DiBenedetto signed with Rackley W.A.R. in the NASCAR Truck Series. The driver made his Truck Series debut in 2022.

DiBenedetto has collected 1 win in 41 truck starts. He’s finished in the top-10 in 17 of those starts.

“After careful consideration, I have decided not to return to Rackley W.A.R. for the 2024 race season, Matt DiBenedetto stated via social media.

“I’m very thankful to have been a part of the team’s tremendous growth over these two years. We’ve shared many accomplishments together such as the team’s first win, making the playoffs, 6 top 10’s in a row and much more.”

“I’m thankful for the opportunity Rackley W.A.R., Curtis, Willie, Chevrolet and all our partners have given me these past 2 years and for believing in me.”

“I’m looking forward to what the future holds, as of right now I don’t have any 2024 plans but I am exploring all options in all series.”

DiBenedetto concluded, “Thank you to my dedicated and awesome fan base, as well as NASCAR and the whole industry for being able to make a career out of what I love.”

Rackley W.A.R. Statement

“Today, Rackley W.A.R. and driver Matt DiBenedetto have reached a mutual decision to part ways for the 2024 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race season,” the team opened.

“We have met many great milestones together on what will be a two-season journey.”

“While Rackley W.A.R. wishes Matt the very best in his future endeavors, this team remains committed to the 2023 NASCAR Playoffs season and an exciting future ahead.”
