Dale Earnhardt Jr comments on racing at the dirt track

Kyle Larson invited Dale Earnhardt Jr to Lernerville Speedway on Tuesday

Earlier this year, Kyle Larson ran a CARS Tour race, a series co-owned by Dale Earnhardt Jr. During that event, Larson talked about bringing Dale Jr to a High Limit Sprint Car Series event, a series co-owned by Larson.

On Tuesday night, those plans were put into action. The NASCAR Hall of Fame driver visited the 4/10-mile dirt track of Lernerville Speedway.

The 48-year-old has very little dirt track experience. When he came up through the ranks, he did it via pavement racing on the late model stocks side.

Dale Earnhardt Jr wasn’t in Pennsylvania to race or even get in a car. Though, he thought about sitting in Larson’s car, the seat was too small.

He was only there to take in the action. And, after visiting the show, Dale Earnhardt Jr has an itch to run a car on the dirt, by himself…

Dale Earnhardt Jr comments on if he wants to go dirt sprint car racing

“Everything’s been great, the food. Even drank some local beer,” Dale Earnhardt Jr told FloSports while he was in the passenger seat of a push truck.

“Absolutely, as a racer, you’re curious about it. I’d love to learn,” he added of getting in a car.

“I know Jimmie [Johnson] drove a car last year. So, I’m sure there’s a scenario where I could get an understanding of what they’re doing.”

“But, after sitting here and watching those guys go around the track, I have no business out there trying to compete with them. That’s insane and impressive how good they are. I really admire the skill it takes.”

“Glad I’m here to witness it. Looking forward to seeing many more races in my future.”
