NASCAR driver jokes on Kyle Larson regarding previous suspension
In 2020, Kyle Larson used a racial slur over his microphone while in an online race via iRacing. The audio was expected to be sent to his spotter only. With the push of the wrong button, the audio was instead sent over the public airwaves.
Every driver in the race heard the exchange. And, with thousands of fans tuned in to the online event during the pandemic, it went viral.
Within hours, sponsors began to pull themselves from Kyle Larson’s team with Chip Ganassi Racing. Soon after, the team announced that Larson had been suspended.
Larson was then suspended from NASCAR as well. He sat out of the sport for the remainder of the 2020 season.
He put his home up for sale and returned to the dirt track. Larson went into pure domination mode, winning everything on dirt.
For 2021, he was signed to Hendrick Motorsports in a NASCAR Cup Series ride. He carried his winning momentum, picking up 10 race wins in 36 races and claimed the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series title.
The driver was also suspended from the online racing platform. However, that ban has since been lifted.
Now, in 2023, Larson is looking to get back into iRacing. However, he’s looking for car setups. And when asking for them on social media he knew exactly what was coming…
Bubba Wallace trolled Kyle Larson as the driver returns to iRacing
Kyle Larson stated via X, “Who would be generous enough to donate some fast iRacing setups? I’m slow so need all the help I can get… (Queue up the jokes, I’m sure I know which ones are coming..)”
–Bubba Wallace responded, “2025 cup champion right here.”
Bubba Wallace and Kyle Larson were friends at one point. However, last year, the two tangled while racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Wallace retaliated then attacked him on the infield.
