For possibly the first time ever, F1 tops NASCAR in TV Ratings

NASCAR at Kansas Speedway vs F1 in Miami

On Sunday, NASCAR raced on the 1.5-mile oval of Kansas Speedway. On the same day, F1 took the green flag in the Miami GP.

Closest finish in NASCAR history: Kansas Speedway (May 5, 2024)

The NASCAR race suffered a rain delay. After several hours, the green flag finally dropped.

2.296 million tuned into FS1 on average to watch Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race. That’s down from the 2.352 million for the same race last year.

Meanwhile, F1 saw a big swing in the other direction.

ESPN reported viewership of the F1 race in Miami at 3.1 million on average with a peak of 3.6 million. That smashed the previous record of 2.6 million which was set at the inaugural Miami race in 2022.

This marks possibly the first time ever that F1 has beaten NASCAR in TV ratings.
