Adam Stevens injured; NASCAR crew chief out following surgery

Adam Stevens suffers double knee injury; Surgery completed

For the past two weeks, the NASCAR industry has been on vacation. The past two weekends went without a race scheduled, preventing an overlap with the olympics.

While on vacation, Stevens suffered a double knee injury. The crew chief has since underwent surgery on both knees.

Stevens has served as the crew chief for 339 races over a 10-year career. He’s collected 37 race wins, all from Kyle Busch and Christopher Bell.

This weekend, Stevens will not be at the track. However, he intends to work remotely from the JGR war room.

Car chief Chris Sherwood will fill the role of crew chief, starting this weekend. As of now, the team lists that Stevens will be out for “upcoming races.”

Adam Stevens comments

“I hate that I won’t be at the track for a few weeks, but I will be fully engaged remotely,” Adam Steven said in a team release.

“I am very thankful for the depth and strength of this 20 team and don’t anticipate my physical absence having any effect on our performance. The surgery went well, and I will be back at the track in a few weeks.”

NASCAR returns to action this weekend at Richmond Raceway.
