Dale Earnhardt Jr, Denny Hamlin scoff NASCAR’s new 2025 rules

NASCAR has introduced new fire suit rules for the 2025 season in the NASCAR Truck Series

NASCAR is regularly looking to help their teams save money.

For 2025, NASCAR has introduced a cost saving measure for NASCAR Truck Series teams. They have added new rules for team fire suits for both over the wall and behind the wall crew members.

NASCAR is looking to prevent teams from creating fire suits for one-off events. Instead, the over the wall crews must wear the same suit design for the entire season.

Additional rules have been added for the behind the wall crews as well. See the list of changes below.

– They must be consistent across an organization.

– The Craftsman, Sunoco, Goodyear and NASCAR bar logo’s shown in the guidelines are highly recommended but they are not required.

– No sponsorship branding allowed.

– Sponsorship branding is allowed.

Josh Reaume comments

Reaume is the owner of Reaume Brothers Racing. They field teams in the NASCAR Truck Series and he’s displeased with the new rules.

“Not that I’ve heard but I don’t expect full fields for all the races in 2025. The cost to participate has climbed,” Josh Reaume stated via X.

“Each off season we’ve added expensive rule changes in the truck series. Owners have to spend everything they squirrel away during the year just to maintain. We need change & improvement but the magnitude needs adjustment. IMO.”

“Rules typically limit our ability to be creative in finding cost effective solutions.”

“For instance next year, teams will be required to have non sponsor branded behind the wall fire suits. This is removing a sellable asset from teams.”

“I don’t believe this rule applies to Cup and NXS. Which if that’s the case is quite interesting because it’s essentially showing that more seasoned organizations see the value.”

Dale Earnhardt Jr and Denny Hamlin troll the new rules

Both Denny Hamlin and Dale Earnhardt Jr reacted via X to the news of these new rules. They equated it to duct tape on a crack in concrete.

Both Hamlin (23XI Racing) and Earnhardt Jr (Jr Motorsports) own NASCAR teams. 23XI Racing recently opened a lawsuit against NASCAR as they seek more favorable terms regarding charter agreements.
