Logan Veloz runs through Gateway Dirt Nationals fencing (Video)

Watch the video as the dirt modified flew right through the catch fence at The Dome

Tonight, it’s the finale of the 2024 Gateway Dirt Nationals. Ahead of the main events, we saw a spectacular crash in the dirt modified division.

With 2 laps to go in the Modified LCQ, Logan Veloz was running in the 3rd and final transfer position.

Mike McKinney worked inside of Veloz and they ran side by side for the final transfer spot. Veloz went to the top in turn one.

He hooked the cushion. The right front was sent across the track and caught the outside wall.

Veloz climbed the concrete wall. He then went directly through the catch fence and landed on the flat of the concrete inside The Dome.

On Friday night, a similar incident occurred in the Super Late Model division. Darin Weisinger went most of the way through the fence but he didn’t go all the way through.

Watch both crash videos from the Gateway Dirt Nationals below.

Logan Veloz comments

“Right the time the right front grabbed the wall the throttle stuck wide open,” he told Flo Racing.

“I knew I was going for a ride. Just tried to hold on.”

“I feel really bad for the car owner. He offered his car up for us. We had a good car and we were enough to get in the show.”

“We can’t park here. The late model the other night was the first one to get out. But, I guess I’m the first one to make it all the way through the fence.”

“Even though I couldn’t make the show. Hopefully, I was the show.”
