Justin Haley and Spire Motorsports to part ways

Spire Motorsports will have a new driver in the No. 7 for the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season

With just seven races remaining in the 2024 season, Justin Haley was part of a unique trade. Haley moved from Rick Ware Racing to Spire Motorsports. Corey LaJoie was on the other end of that trade, moving from Spire to RWR.

This season, the 26-year-old has run full-time with Spire Motorsports, piloting the No. 7 car. He collected a best-finish of 3rd at Daytona a few months ago.

For 2026, Haley and Spire will part ways. Plans for the No. 7 entry have not been announced.

Spire Motorsports comments

“This is a decision that was not taken lightly,” said Spire Motorsports co-owner Jeff Dickerson said via a team release.

“Justin has been a member of the Spire family since he was a teenager. We’ve watched Justin grow from a young driver trying to make his mark in the sport to a proven winner. He helped strengthen our organization into what it is today. He made us winners and returned home after forging his own path in the Cup Series.”

“Justin is the embodiment of a true racer who has quietly become a respected competitor within the NASCAR garage and will be an incredible asset to his next team.”

Haley previously raced with Spire Motorsports in 2019-2021 before making a move to Kaulig Racing in 2022. He gave Spire Motorsports their first NASCAR Cup Series victory in 2019.

The driver has not made any public comments on 2026.
