On Saturday morning, NASCAR Truck Series teams were rolling their pit gear to the pit lane in Dover, Delaware. A downhill slope caused a very heavy pit cart carrying tools and parts to get away.
Spire Motorsports crew member Donovan Williams jumped into the scene to try and prevent the box from running into pit reporter Amada Busick.
Williams sustained injuries and he was transported to the hospital. Williams has since flown home after being released from the hospital.
FOX stated, “Spire crew member Donovan Williams was treated and released Saturday after suffering minor injuries while saving our own Amanda Busick from a runaway pit box in Dover.”
Spire Motorsports fields teams in the NASCAR Cup Series as well as the NASCAR Truck Series.
