NASCAR issued a warning not to do a burnout on the bricks at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Today is the Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It’s a crown jewel race for the NASCAR Cup Series.
Yesterday, Carson Kvapil went to victory lane in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series race. Ahead of the celebrations, officials came over the radio to remind the winner not to do burnouts on the bricks.
However, he missed that communication.
Kvapil left rubber marks all over the bricks. That forced track workers to go out and scrub the bricks clean ahead of today’s race.
Dale Earnhardt Jr issues an apology for his driver
Dale Earnhardt Jr is the owner of JR Motorsports, the team that fielded the entry for Kvapil.
“Our apologies,” Dale Earnhardt Jr stated.
“The driver was unplugged from his radio when NASCAR sent the reminder. Lots going on when that all went down. Certainly regret any inconvenience.”
