On the final lap, Zane Smith threw a block at the front of the field. He got turned in front of the field and everyone scattered behind him.
Larson slowed to avoid Smith as he spun to the apron. Daniel Dye, driver of the No. 78 came into the scene with nowhere to go. He climbed up and over the No. 5 car.
Dye’s machine hit Larson in the window net. Larson was extremely calm over the team radio given the situation…
The No. 5 team came on the radio, “Cautions out here. Let us know you’re okay.”
Larson responded, “Yeah, I’m okay. I think I got hit like in the window net. So, that’s crazy.”
The crew chief added, “The No. 78 went above you. You okay?”
Larson confirmed, “Yeah.”
