This year, Brandon Overton’s dirt late model has seen a wide range of Budweiser paint schemes. He’s thrown back to a Dale Earnhardt Jr paint scheme, Miss Budweiser and now he has a new one to conclude the 2026 season.

Now, he’ll unload a tribute to NHRA drag racer Kenny Bernstein.

Back in March 20, 1992, Bernstein became the first NHRA driver to break the 300-mph barrier. He did it in the 1992 Gatornationals. He collected a $50,000 bonus check from Slick 50 for the accomplishment.

Overton is rolling into the dirt track with a scheme to honor Bernstein’s car when he broke 300-mph.

Brandon Overton comments

“This Bud’s for King Kenny,” Brandon Overton stated via social media.

“We’re wrapping up the Salute to Bud series by honoring the legendary Kenny Bernstein, the first driver to break the 300 MPH barrier on March 20, 1992.”

“A historic milestone. An iconic partnership. A legacy that forever changed motorsports.”

He concluded, “Diecasts and Merch will be available early next week”

Bernstein is multi-time NHRA champion. He claimed the NHRA Funny Car Championship in 1985, 1986, 1987 and 1988. He then claimed the NHRA Top Fuel Championship in 1996 and 2021.
