Talladega Superspeedway will see the return of Tony Stewart
Tony Stewart, three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion is returning to run another NASCAR race. He will race on Oct. 23 at Talladega Superspeedway in Kaulig Racing’s No. 25 Ram 1500.
Kaulig Racing has been using a free agent program to bring future stars and legends to the seat. Stewart already ran a race earlier this season at Daytona International Speedway with the team. That was his first Truck Series start since 2005.
Driver that have run in Ram’s Free Agent Program: Stewart, Jamie McMurray, Ty Dillon, Ryan Newman, Connor Daly, Corey LaJoie, Travis Pastrana, Parker Kligerman, Clint Bowyer, A.J. Allmendinger, Carson Ferguson, Elliott Sadler, and sports car veteran Colin Braun.
Stewart retired from NASCAR Cup Series competition after the 2016 season. He collected a 49 career Cup wins.

“Anytime you can get into a Ram truck and go racing at a place like Talladega, you jump at it,” Tony Stewart said via the team release.
“Daytona in February was a blast, but this trip focuses on having fun while helping Kaulig Racing learn and build their notebook on superspeedways. Ram put a tremendous amount of heart into this NASCAR return.”
Stewart concluded, “If my experience helps this team sharpen its drafting package and speed up the learning curve, everyone wins.”
