Ty Gibbs threw a water bottle into the crowd of the fight between Ryan Blaney and Carson Hocevar
On Saturday night, Carson Hocevar made contact with Ryan Blaney in the battle for 2nd at Bristol Motor Speedway. That led to a fight between the two drivers on the pit lane after the race.
In the same race, Gibbs and Hocevar made contact as they battled for the race lead. That allowed Joey Logano to slip by both of them and grab the win.
Ty Gibbs was parked just ahead of Hocevar as the fight took place after the race. And, as the crowd grew around the fight scene, Gibbs thought it would be a good idea to randomly toss a water bottle into the crowd of people.
The bottle hit a reporter. It knocked his camera to the ground.
This week, NASCAR elected not to issue any penalties. Hocevar, Blaney and both crews will see no fines or penalties.
But, NASCAR is going to have a talk with Ty Gibbs…

NASCAR comments on Ty Gibbs
“I know it was kind of a heat-of-the-moment thing, and he probably thought it was just kind of a funny thing to add to the moment,” NASCAR vice president of racing communications Mike Forde said Tuesday via the “Hauler Talk” podcast.
“He probably had some frustrations with (Hocevar) as well. But obviously that could be dangerous if that hit someone in the wrong place. If the cap portion of that water bottle hit someone in the eye, that could be a dangerous situation.”
Forde added, “So we plan to have a conversation this weekend in Kansas with Ty Gibbs, but no penalty.”
This weekend, NASCAR is heading to Kansas Speedway.
