Ryan Blaney and Carson Hocevar threw punches after the race at Bristol Motor Speedway; Ty Gibbs tossed a water bottle into the scrum
On Saturday night, the NASCAR Cup Series raced at Bristol Motor Speedway. The sparks went flying and so did the fists.
In the closing laps, Carson Hocevar and Ty Gibbs rubbed fenders and doors for the race lead and the win. As they tangled, they handed the lead over to Joey Logano.

Before that, Hocevar and Blaney tangled for 2nd. And Blaney hung around after the race to have a chat with Hocevar.
That chat quickly led to punches being thrown by both drivers. And in the middle of all that chaos, Ty Gibbs tossed a water bottle into the scrum.

“I mean, that was fun with the No. 54. I got ran into a lot for the win,” Hocevar stated of the battle with Ty Gibbs.
“That was for 2nd and he wants to come fight,” Hocevar then referenced Blaney.

“That was so much fun. That car was just a blast to drive,” Ty Gibbs stated.
“I just tried to stay up a little too long to shut the No. 77’s air off. I just needed to get down in one and two better.”
“It was a pretty great show. The No. 12, and I and the No. 77 put a great show on. Such a fun race.”

Christopher Bell couldn’t stop smiling while watching the replays of the post-race altercation. He stated with a big smile, “I mean, this is just awesome. Bristol’s just the best.”
Bubba Wallace stated, “I just seen the aftermath when the No. 12 was spun and in the wall. I need to go back and see. Yeah, it’s NASCAR. It’s The Chase. Here we go.”
