Stenhouse plans to make it difficult for Jones to make the NASCAR playoffs after contact at New Hampshire
Erik Jones was under Ricky Stenhouse Jr off the corner at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Jones came up the track and got into the left front of Stenhouse.
It was light contact. But, it was also enough contact to push the fenders in on the tire.
Laps later, Stenhouse suffered a flat tire and was in the wall. His race was over.

“We were looking forward to getting to that next stage so that we could make some wholesale adjustments,” Stenhouse told NBC Sports after the race.
Unfortunately, Stenhouse never made it to that next stage. Instead, he was sitting in the garage with a wrecked race car.
“Oh yeah, the #20 just ran over us there.”
“He’s gotten me a couple times now. So, he’ll have one coming at some point when he’s trying to make the playoffs.”
“We’ll go get them next week at Pocono and see if we can’t bring a little bit better race car,” Stenhouse concluded.
Erik Jones sits 14th in the standings after New Hampshire. Ricky Stenhouse Jr sits 20th.
Both drivers are without a win in 2019. They each need to make the playoffs on points. Only the top 16 advance into the first playoff round.
