Tonight, it’s night two of the famed Knoxville Nationals. The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series are back in Knoxville, Iowa for another $12,000 qualifying night battle.

Weather rolled into the area late this afternoon. That pushed back the start of the show. Now, the feature is set to roll just beyond midnight local time.

Kasey Kahne grabbed the fast time award. However, Kayne and and Kyle Larson both came through the B-Main and will be coming from the tail of the field.

Sam Hafertepe Jr and Sye Lynch will lead them to the starting line. 410 sprint cars line up in a four wide salute. 25 laps of sprint car racing are up next…

Main Event – Report

Green flag, Sam Hafertepe Jr gets the jump on the inside lane. Lynch falls to 4th before turn one as he gets sideways at the launch.

Caution, Austin McCarl gets called for jumping the start. Shane Stewart gets a push to the trailer and his night is done with mechanical issues.

Green, Hafertepe Jr gets the jump on the inside. Parker Price-Miller slams the wall in turn one behind them and the red flag is out. Price-Miller jumped over a right rear just before the corner and he was sent right into the wall. The driver climbs from the car after knocking the caution light off the fence post.

Green, Hefertepe Jr leads Lynch into turn one. Brent Marks slides Lynch for 2nd in turn three. Brian Brown drive to the outside of Marks and takes 2nd away.

Big crash back into turn one! Carson Macedo looked to the inside of McMahan for 4th. They banged wheels and Macedo was pushed over the inside berm. They both slam the outside wall.

Paul McMahan is on fire, Sammy Swindell flips, Kerry Madsen is parked upside down and several others are involved. Kyle Larson snakes his way through the crash scene. The red flag is out again. McMahan climbs from his machine and safety works quickly extinguish the flames.

Just shy of 1:00am local time and we have 1 lap complete.

Restart

Green, Hafertepe Jr leads the single file restart. Brian Brown knocks the cushion in turn one and builds momentum off turn two. Brown slides Hafertepe Jr for the lead into turn one, Brown leads.

Lap 4, Brent Marks slides Haferetepe Jr for 2nd and completes the pass.

Lap 6, Sweet and Courtney bang wheels as Larson and Kahne both fly through the field behind them after starting at the tail. The caution is out for debris.

Green, Brown leads Marks on another single file restart.

Lap 10, Sweet slides Abreu for 5th. Larson closes on both of them and picks them both off. Larson to 5th.

Lap 11

Lap 11, Sammy Swindell stalls and the caution is out.

Green, Brown leads. Larson slides Sweet for 3rd.

Lap 13, Tyler Courtney slows and the caution is back out.

Green, Brown leads Marks and Larson as the top three knock the cushion into turn one,

Lap 15, Larson slides Marks for 2nd into turn one. From the tail of the field to 2nd.

10 to go, Brown leads Larson by 2 seconds.

5 to go, Brown leads Larson by 10 car lengths as both knock the cushion all the way around the half-mile.

1 to go, Larson is out of time.
