Knoxville Nationals NASCAR Racecar to be driven by Clint Bowyer at Pocono
KNOXVILLE, IOWA (July 27, 2016) — The 5-hour ENERGY® Knoxville Nationals NASCAR Racecar presented by Casey’s General Stores will be well represented when the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series takes the green at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pa., this Sunday. Clint Bowyer’s traditional No. 15 5-hour ENERGY® Chevrolet will have a new look, showcasing sprint car racing’s most prestigious event.

The 2016 Knoxville Nationals mark the first entrance into dirt track racing for the makers of 5-hour ENERGY® products. Bowyer has earned two top-five and nine top-10 finishes in Sprint Cup competition at Pocono Raceway, including an eighth-place finish in this race one year ago. The Emporia, Kan., native has earned eight career NASCAR Sprint Cup victories.
Bowyer is no stranger to dirt racing, having grown up competing in dirt late models. He currently owns two late model teams driven by 2014 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series National Champion Don O’Neal and Darrel Lanigan. Both of whom will compete in the Lucas Oil Late Model Nationals presented by Casey’s General Stores at Knoxville Raceway September 15-17.
The 56th annual 5-hour ENERGY® Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Stores kick off on Wednesday, August 10 and concludes on Saturday, August 13. The event features more than 100 drivers from around the United States, Australia and New Zealand. Nearly 21,000 spectators converge upon Knoxville for the event.
