Todd Parrott relieved of Crew Chief duties

Jon Leonard will fill #95 Crew Chief position

The announcement comes from the team following Talladega Superspeedway. Michael McDowell finished 30th after being involved in a big crash toward the end of the race.

“Just doesn’t seem to matter if you are in the front, or the middle or the back. You just aren’t immune to it,” Michael McDowell stated at the infield care center.

Statement from Leavine Family Racing:

“Todd Parrott has been relieved of Crew Chief duties for the remainder of the 2017 season effective immediately. After careful consideration and numerous discussions regarding the position of Crew Chief, we have decided to go in a different direction.”

“While we continue to explore our options for the 2018 race season, Jon Leonard will assume the duties of interim Crew Chief.”

#95 Crew Chief

Jon Leonard has not served as a NASCAR crew chief before. His previous role with LFR was lead race engineer.

Todd Parrott has spent 23 years at a Crew Chief in the MENCS. He been on top of the box for 664 races. 31 of the those races have sent him on a walk to victory lane. His last win came in 2012 with Marcos Ambrose.

Leavine Family Racing: 2018

In 2018, Kasey Kahne will make the move from Hendrick Motorsports to Leavine Family Racing.

“I am ready for this challenge and look forward to making a fresh start. Bob and everyone at Leavine Family Racing put a lot into their program and I’m excited to become a part of it,” stated Kasey Kahne back in September on his new team.
