Tonight, Johnny Sauter will compete for a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Championship. The Championship 4 drivers come into Homestead-Miami Speedway, even, as they fight for the win.

On the morning of the battle, GMS Racing have announced the championship contender will run with the team again in 2018. The 39-year-old and defending NASCAR Truck Series champion will be in the series again next season.

GMS Racing Statement

STATESVILLE, N.C. (November 17, 2017) – On the day he competes for his second consecutive NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Championship, GMS Racing officials announced that Johnny Sauter will return to the team for the 2018 season. Following a career-best season, Sauter will once again pilot the No. 21 Chevrolet Silverado.

“I can’t thank the Gallagher family and Mike Beam enough for the opportunity they’ve given me the last two years. To be able to compete at this level, where you know you could win any given weekend, is incredible and I’m excited to be able to continue with the No. 21 team next year.”

2017

Homestead isn’t a 1.5 mile track, it’s kind of a track in it’s own category. However, 1.5 mile tracks are the closest thing for comparisons sake. Johnny Sauter has 2 two on 1.5 mile tracks. He’s led 98 laps and has an average finish of 6th.
