Final practice results for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series field at Atlanta Motor Speedway
Ryan Newman missed the pole on Friday by 0.038. Today, in final practice, Newman takes it to P1.
Martin Truex Jr had to serve a 30 minute penalty at the end of final practice. Despite that, he still found a way to 2nd on the board.
Other inspection issues: Harrison Rhodes and Jimmie Johnson both failed inspection twice. Jeffrey Earnhardt, Gray Gaulding, Michael McDowell and Cole Whitt were all late to pre-qualifying inspection. All 6 drivers have been handed 15-minute practice penalties.
