NASCAR practice times from Talladega Superspeedway
Today, Talladega Superspeedway hosts two rounds of practice for NASCAR’s premier series. The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series takes to the 2.66-mile track in Alabama for the first time with the new rules package.

New rules: Bigger rear spoiler, bigger front splitter, tapered radiator pan, tapered engine spacer (no restrictor plate), 1 inch trackbar bolt and aero ducts.
This rule package is brand new for a superspeedway event. The Daytona race earlier in the year was excluded from most of the 2019 rules package.
Talladega Practice

Duration: 50 minutes
Kyle Busch went out early in the practice session. He returned to the garage quick as the #18 was dragging on the track bar mount.
The track bar now has a 1 inch bolt attached. That’s designed to raise the track bar by 1 inch.
Teams have formed in groups early.
Kurt Busch leads the session at the halfway mark. He set an average speed of 202.67
37 minutes in, a group of 10 Ford Mustangs have hit the track. They’ve lined up single file around the bottom. They cannot top the times set earlier in the session. Kevin Harvick was quickest in that line of cars (7th).
5 minutes remain, they’re 3 wide in practice. Suarez gave a shove to Paul Menard down the back stretch. The bump on the right hand side of the rear bumper was enough to get Menard out of shape. Menard lifted and pulled to the inside, he’s had enough of that.
