Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series race results from Portsmouth Raceway Park
Tonight, the national dirt late model tour returns to Portsmouth, Ohio. The 3/8-mile dirt track of Portsmouth Raceway Park hosts the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

$12,000 is on the line for tonight’s feature winner. But, the tour will return to this same track in October for a massive $100,000 to win show.
Main Event – Report
Lightning clouds blast in the distance. Rain is on the way.
Hudson O’Neal stalled in his heat race with mechanical issues. He needed a tow back to the pits. He was able to transfer through to the main event.
Shanon Buckingham unloaded the backup car following the heat race. He started the B Main from the tail but failed to transfer. Buckingham will start this main event from the tail with a series promotional. Billy Moyer Jr will also use a providional.
Tyler Erb and Jonathan Davenport trail the pace truck ahead of tonight’s 50 lap main event. $12,000 is on the line for the feature winner.
The field lines up in a four wide salute for the Ohio dirt racing fans. The start of the feature event is up next…
Green flag, Tyler Erb noses ahead on the bottom into turn one. Davenport hangs onto his right rear and he’s back im the gas quicker. Davenport leads off turn two with the high side momentum.
Tyler Erb drives it deep into turn three. Davenport holds the spot.
Lap 7, Jason Jameson is slow into turn one. The caution is out.
Green, Davenport leads. Richards and Erb run side by side for 2nd. Erb knocks a rut on the bottom. Richards is on the cushion and the throttle. Richards takes 2nd off turn two.
Lap 9, Don O’Neal is sideways and the yellow is back out.
Green, Davenport leads. Tyler Erb drives it deep to the bottom in turn one. He’s clear of Richards off turn two.
Richards drives it deep on the bottom into turn three. He slides across the nose of Erb as he slides up the track. Erb is forced to lift and Richards retakes 2nd.
Lap 19, Steve Casebolt takes 3rd from Tyler Erb.
Davenport works heavy lap traffic. Richards is closing.
Lap 21, Dustin Linville is slow off turn four and the caution is back out.
Green, Davenport leads. Casebolt takes 2nd on the bottom as Richards struggles through turn one. Owens has a run on both of them. He’s door to door with Casebolt for 2nd into turn three.
Spin behind them and the caution is out. That lap was not complete.
Green, Davenport leads. Erb slices through to 2nd off turn two. Richards drives it deep on the outside into turn three and defends 2nd.
Lap 21, Richards and Erb run side by side off turn two. Tyler Erb drives it deep to the bottom to attempt a slider. He can’t clear him as Richards is hard on the gas around the top.
Lap 29, Richards is quickly closing in on Davenport. He’s within two car lengths. Richards runs a slightly higher line.
Lap 32, Davenport changes his line and opens the gap to four car lengths.
Lap 40, Davenport has caught the tail of the field. He’s driving right by them on the top.
Richards has lost his spoiler. He’s losing ground in a hurry. Tyler Erb runs him down and takes 2nd away.
Richards fights back to reclaim 2nd as they work heavy lap traffic.
Jonathan Davenport is driving into the distance. He wins at Portsmouth Raceway Park!
