After contact in practice, Mike Harmon invited Michael Annett’s ‘punk ass’ to Applebee’s

Yesterday, the NASCAR Xfinity Series had Indianapolis Motor Speedway to themselves with two rounds of practice. With a handful of minutes remaining in the final practice we saw a bit of drama.
Michael Annett and Mike Harmon made contact. As a result, Annett lost his entire rear bumper cover. It also dented some of the rear bumper mounting bars as well.
Annett was done for the day. He climbed from his car and walked over to the garage stall of Mike Harmon. As Harmon remained in his car, Annett stuck his head through the driver window to have a chat.

“Arguing with an idiot,” Annett told NBC Sports of how that conversation went.
“I’ve been told not to argue with idiots. People watching might not know who the idiot is. So, I had to get out of there pretty quick.”
“Just unbeliveable. These guys built a really fast race car. I watch the #20 car go underneath him into turn three. I was following the #20 and he just kept coming down.”
“I’m like, ‘He’s gotta know I’m here at this point.’ He just kept coming down. My left sides were on the curbing and the grass.”
“He told me his spotter said he was clear. He was coming down pit road. But, his spotter tells our spotter that he never said anything.”
“Just a bunch of idiots. We’re going too fast to have people like that out there. If he’s blaming it on the spotter then he better have someone else up there. Because this place is all about trust in the guy because we’re not lifting.”
“Just disappointed,” Annett concluded.

After practice, Mike Harmon heard that same interview we did. And he wasn’t happy with what he heard.
Harmon took to inviting Annett’s ‘punk ass’ to Applebees.
“I apologized as a team but you took it to a whole new level when a cameras in your face. Come bring your punk ass down to Applebee’s on Crawford Road and call me an idiot to my face,” Mike Harmon stated via twitter.
For those that aren’t aware, Applebee’s is a chain restaurant. And despite the fancy name, you’ll find very few apples on the menu.
“If my family has spent the money on me that yours spent on you I would be ashamed to show my face at the trace track only winning only two races. Back your mouth up.”
“You interviewed ONE side of the story @NASCAR_Xfinity , how about coming and gettin mine!!!”
Mike Harmon really went to the Applebee’s on Crawford. He later tweeted, “I’m here.”
Mike Harmon was 32nd in final practice with a time of 59.022. Annett was 13th on the board with a time of 54.070.
The green flag will drop on the NASCAR Xfinity Series race later this afternoon. Indianapolis Motor Speedway is set to host the Indiana 250.
