Two-seater Indycar ride
Mario Andretti has long since retired from racing. However, he remains a car owner in the sport and he can still wheel a car.
WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca hosted the final championship race for the NTT Indycar Series. Josef Newgarden went on to win the championship.
The track is located in the hills of Monterey County, California. The tracks drops 18% of elevation throughout the layout.
The track is known for it’s famed corkscrew corner. That corner alone drops 59 feet or five a half stories from corner entry to corner exit.
Mario Andretti sat in the two-seater Indycar at Laguna Seca as the pilot. Lele Pons sat in the backseat.
Ahead of the race, the two-seater Indycar went around the circuit. LIVE coverage on NBC cut to video and in-car audio of the ride.
She screamed, “What the fuck!” At the same time that her eyes opened wide around the final corner heading to the front stretch.
“She is excited. We apologize about that,” Leigh Diffey stated soon after.
Pons continued to scream as they cut back to her audio, “Slow down!” This time, she had a huge smile on her face.
