NASCAR final practice results from the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL

This is an elimination race in the NASCAR Playoffs. 16 drivers head into the Charlotte, North Carolina oval and road course with a chance at a championship. Only 12 will advance after Sunday.

Final Practice – Report
Duration: 50 minutes
8 minutes in, Martin Truex Jr is stopped in the back stretch chicane. There’s also reports of fluid on the race track.
Truex is currently fastest in this session. However, he’s lost something important as he entered the back straight away. Truex was trying to hit 3rd gear and he went to 1st. NASCAR is cleaning up the track.
12 minutes to clean the track. The green is back out with important track time lost.
26 minutes remaining, Jimmie Johnson has backed it into the tire barrier and the red flag is back out. He ran wide off the corner on the infield, cut the grass and it sucked him into the barrier. Moderate damage for the driver who was fastest in practice one.
Martin Truex Jr remains the fastest at the halfway point. He remains in the garage area after trouble early in this session.

20 minutes remain, Denny Hamlin wheel hops into the backstretch chicane. He misses it completely. Hamlin comes to a stop in the restart zone, which is what drivers will have to do in the race.
12 minutes remain, Denny Hamlin wheel hops and cuts the chicane once more. This is in the backup car after contact with the wall in practice yesterday.
5 minutes remain, Chase Elliott jumps to the top of the board.
2 minutes remain, Austin Dillon is around. He did the same thing as Johnson. He caught the grass but was able to keep it off the wall.
Kyle Busch cooks corning entry into the backstretch chicane. He launches over the larger curb, all four wheel well off the ground.
30 seconds remaining, Alex Bowman has backed it into the tire barrier! He lost it in the infield and made heavy contact with the wall.
