Today, multiple NASCAR drivers are making their debut at the track. They are using the event to get in some laps on NASCAR’s newest track before the NASCAR Cup Series hosts their first dirt race since 1970.

The speeds are extremely high. The tiniest of mistakes can and have turn into major incidents.

So far, Marty Carrier is having the worst week of them all. The Kentucky driver commented on social media ahead of today’s race regarding his excitement. The hype was only intensified as he started on the front row for his heat race in the 604 late model division.

The No. 83 driver was taken four wide into turn one. Off turn two, the No. 95 of Steven Mathis clear himself from the bottom lane to the outside wall, just across the nose of Carrier. He made light right rear to right front contact in the process.

Marty Carrier checked up to avoid getting into the back of Mathis. At the same time, Jake Bridge had a run off the highside of turn two. As Carrier checked up, Bridge got into the back of him and jacked him sideways.

Carrier slid down the banking and clipped the No. 5 of Darrell Dow. He then went back up the race track at the flagstand. Jake Bridge had nowhere to go but into the side of Carrier.

The No. 83C machine was lifted off the ground. The car went into a violent barrier roll down the back straightaway.
