Diamond Nationals results for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series

Tonight, the national dirt late model tour returns to the 3/8-mile in Wheatland, Missouri. Lucas Oil Speedway is set to host the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. This is the first race for the series since early July after five consecutive rain outs.

Green flag, Owens and Scott run side by side into turn one. They remain side by side in turn three, Owens wins the battle on the outside off turn four.

Lap 3, Overkramer gets sideways in turn two. Shirley clips him on the way by and that straightens Oberkramer back out.

Lap 5, Pearson Jr spins in turn two, caution.

Green, Owens leads into turn one. Davenport and Scott run side by side for 2nd as Clanton looks to make it three wide. Scott holds the spot on the inside of turn three.

Lap 15, Owens works heavy lap traffic. Scott closes to within a car length.

Lap 17, Chris Ferguson has a flat, caution. McCreadie to the pits and back out.

Green, Owens leads into turn one. Davenport takes 2nd away on the outside of turn two.

Lap 28, Owens picks the wrong lane and he’s trapped behind a lap car. Davenport dives to the inside and clears him off turn two.

Owens gets onto the back of the lap car. Clanton then drives into the back of Owens. Stormy Scott also catches a piece before cutting across the infield and sending a tractor tire into the air. The caution is out. Owens and Clanton to the pits.

Drivers are allowed a helmet change during this caution. The track is tacky and they’re out of tear-offs.

Green, Davenport leads as Bronson takes over 2nd.

Josh Richards and Hudson O’Neal fight for space in turn three as they battle for 4th. O’Neal is around and many others are collected. The caution is back out.

O’Neal climbs from his car and puts both hands in the air as Richards coasts by.

Green, Davenport leads but Bronson is all over his bumper at the launch. Davenport opens the gap.

15 to go

15 to go, Davenport has caught the tail of the field. Bronson and Richards close on him.

10 to go, Davenport opens the gap back up with clear track ahead. Richards is all over Bronson for 2nd.

8 to go, Garrett Alberson is upside down in turn four and the red flag is out. The driver appears ok.

Green, Davenport leads Bronson and Richards. Bronson has a look on the inside off turn two but can’t get the drive.

4 to go, Richards to 2nd. Davenport leads by 6 car lengths.
